A Public Service Message:

How would you feel if somebody told you that they needed your help to save their life? Well, somebody does!

Do you ever wonder what your purpose in life is? Do you wonder why you are here? Do you wonder whether you will ever have any real impact on the world around you? Well, you WILL!

Every day, 40,000 children die unnecessarily around the world. For most of this century, at any given moment, there have been dozens deadly wars raging.

If you are sitting in front of a computer that is powerful enough to play Moraff's WorldNet, you are probably a member of the wealthy elite of this world.

You could have been born to such great poverty, that all you would get to eat is a bowl of rice each day. When you got sick, there would be no doctor. There would be no school, no toys, no computer. So why are you so lucky?

Actually, the truly fortunate people are those who understand how fortunate they are. No one can tell you why you have what you do, but it is up to you to make the decision about what to do with the advantages you've been given.

Allow me to make a suggestion:
If you choose to accept this responsibility, your life will never be the same again.

There may come a time when children no longer die needlessly in under-developed countries. No longer would there be useless wars, killing innocent people.

If this future comes to be, historians will look back and say, 'These changes were made because...'

Your job is to figure out how that sentence ends, and then see to it that it happens! And I tell you, every person will play a role in determining this future!

Can you do it? Nothing truly great is easy. All the easy things have been done already. So don't think you can leave these problems to someone who is 'smarter' than you. The smartest person in the world is the person who realizes that:

1) You can try to do anything.

2) You might or might not succeed, but you'll definitely fail if you don't try.

3) Imagination is more valuable than intelligence.

4) MOST IMPORTANT: Intelligence and mental ability are not genetic, and you can change your own!

That last statement is very controversial. Most scientists believe that IQ is an inherited genetic characteristic. But then, most scientists used to think the Earth was flat!

In the same breath, they'll tell you that IQ is inherited and that you only use 3 percent of your brain! Don't believe it!
If you can learn to increase your mind's ability to think, reason, organize thoughts, and remember key ideas, then you will unlock the true power the human mind.

If you are still in school, you can not count on classes to teach you this. You must learn it on your own.

Conclusion:

The decision to take responsibility to try to deal with the problems of the world in either a big or small way is a tough one. Talk to your friends about it, talk to your family.

If your decision is to join the fight for progress, you'll be part of an unofficial club, a group of human beings who believe their primary role in this life is to make the world a better place.

That feeling of who you are should be with you all of your life.
